For some reason or another, Melissa enjoys subjecting herself to hard work, pain, and unnecessary exertion of energy. Kayaking through a thunderstorm in a mountain park, lion dancing in the snow for Chinese New Year, hurdling over taxi cabs in Chicago, waking up way too early to swing around a racquet, scuba diving in the bitter cold, bicycling up (and eventually down) the Verrazano Bridge – if she can sign up for it, she probably will…
